Making something out of nothing
This custom nook area was thoughtfully designed and built from the ground up, transforming the space into a warm and inviting centerpiece. The project began with constructing the built-in benches from scratch, carefully measured and fitted to maximize both comfort and functionality. Each bench was paired with handcrafted cushions, tailored to fit perfectly and provide a cozy, finished look that complements the surrounding space.
At the heart of the nook sits a custom walnut dining table, made from locally sourced Michigan walnut, showcasing rich grain patterns and natural character unique to the region. Accompanying the table is a matching live edge walnut bench, preserving the organic beauty of the wood while tying the entire design together. The result is a cohesive, handcrafted space that blends fine woodworking with practical design, creating a gathering place built to last.
